Finding a Property

The main source of advice and information for businesses looking to locate in Bristol is Bristol City Council’s Business Support Team.  They can provide you with a register of available commercial (office and industrial) space, as well as information on council-owned properties.  Unfortunately this does not include available retail premises, however the team can provide a list of property agents who specialise in retail premises.  Have a look at the Business Support Team's tips for finding suitable premises.

What do you need?

It is useful to have a clear idea of the type of space you are looking for before you contact the team.  Have a look at the checklist – this may help you determine what you require.  If you are not really sure and would like to get a feel of the property market, Bristol City Council's Business Support Team can help.

You will need to decide on the type of tenancy that will suit your budget and business requirements.  Buying is normally a long term investment.  Renting offers stability without the capital investment.  New or small businesses may consider managed workspace or working from home.

You are advised to seek legal help when signing a lease or contract for business property.

Search the Bristol Business Directory under 'Commercial Property Consultants' for local listings.
