Ashley
Ashley is a multi-ethnic ward in the inner city. It includes Montpelier, St Paul's and St Werburgh's and is home to the St Paul's Carnival in July.
Local character and retailers can be seen at Mina Road and Picton Street. New community facilities in St Paul's include the Sport Centre on Newfoundland Road and the Family and Learning Centre on Grosvenor Road. There is also St Agnes Park, St Werburgh's Community Centre, St Werburgh's City Farm, Kuumba and the Malcolm X Centre. Circomedia has refurbished St Paul's Church on Portland Square with a performance space big enough for aerial acts.
Ashley businesses are well-served with local support agencies: CEED (which has a Media centre and conference facilities), BRAVE, BACEN, BEST and Avon CDA are all located north of Brunswick Square.
Transport
Ashley is adjacent to the M32 motorway and the A38 into central Bristol. Local trains call at Montpelier station. See www.travelbristol.org for full transport details
