Renewable Energy

A Bristol-based business, Ocean Prospect, announced in May that it is planning to build the UK's first wave farm off the South West coast.  This will utilise new Wave Hub technology which will provide a seabed electric socket to connect into the national grid.

The next South West Green Energy Conference will be held on 16 November in Weston Super Mare, this is now open for exhibitor bookings.  In 2004 a community project in Bristol, the Ashley Vale Action Group, was nominated for the Green Energy Awards for their redevelopment of a brownfield site powered by photovoltaic technology.

Regen SW, the renewable energy agency for the South West, is organising the conference and awards.

The Centre for Sustainable Energy is a charity which promotes sustainable energy.  They offer education packs and advice for anyone involved in this area.  They can offer businesses help on reducing their energy usage.
