Mother daughter duo add some glamour to their magazine album

With the UK slowly but surely coming out of economic recession, people are yearning to indulge in some sort of luxury once again. It is especially true for British women who have been waiting for too long to inject some glamour into their lives on special occasions such as weddings and the birth of a child in the family.

Pauline and Krystle Downie, the mother and daughter duo that became extremely popular after the quiz show Million Pound Drop Live, has come up with a new and innovative magazine album.

 Their venture, It’s My Magazine produces bespoke, luxury publications which beautifully present and document those momentous occasions in life, capturing a slice of history. Stunning, professional photography is combined with feature articles and interviews with friends and family, crafted by dedicated journalists and designers with real magazine experience.

Since launching, the female entrepreneurs have been shortlisted as one of the top three most innovative UK businesses by the British Council and have seen demand grow as holiday season approaches. Customers can order ten to a thousand copies of their own magazine album, which truly serves as a one-of-a-kind gift for the most special people in their lives.

The idea for the business was first conceived when the pair created a glossy magazine for a friend who had recently gotten married and felt her traditional album only told half of her story. According to Krystle, “For some people, it’s not about having a celebrity wedding experience, it’s about preserving history. Not everyone can afford to have someone write their autobiography, but everyone deserves to have their life story told, It’s My Magazine enables this.”

Pauline adds; “Our concept has been so popular as we can diversify to produce everything from birthday magazines to capturing the life stories of older people and we’re strong advocates of the importance of hardcopies rather than everything being purely digital.” It’s My Magazine will be appearing at the National Wedding Show in London’s Earls Court from 27th – 29th September and the luxury Brides show, Battersea Park from 11th – 13th October 2013.
