The Business Powerhouse Launched Assisting SMEs

Small to medium-sized businesses are being given a new opportunity to save money and boost their profits with the launch of a new website designed to help them find top deals in one place, as the nation gets ready to support Small Business Saturday on December 5.

The Business Powerhouse is the brainchild of top financial journalist Alison Steed, whose wealth of experience and knowledge within the industry has made her a respected commentator on finance issues for many years.

The new site offers companies the chance to compare business energy deals, international money transfers, business insurance products, merchant card services and even business savings accounts to help them both save and make money wherever possible.

Alison Steed, founder of The Business Powerhouse, said: “It struck me that while there is a plethora of websites in the personal finance space offering good deals and simple comparisons for individuals, the business community is served far less well. I wanted to change that. So we are providing business owners and employees with a way of sourcing great deals with the least amount of effort.

“We believe that the breadth of products we already have on the site means we provide one of the biggest sources of information and comparison services for businesses in the UK.}}”

The launch comes ahead of Small Business Saturday, when UK consumers are encouraged to support small businesses. Last year, 16.5m people shopped at a small independent retailer on Small Business Saturday, which represented a 20% increase on the previous year.*

Steed said: “We are working with various providers and already have a wide range of products that businesses can get quotes for simply by filling in a form which takes less than 60 seconds, and they can source a wide variety of products – everything from photocopiers to franking machines, business mobiles to electronic point of sale (EPoS) systems.

“We are hoping to help small and medium-sized enterprises – from restaurants and retailers, through to motor traders and leisure centres and everyone in between – to put themselves on a sounder financial footing going forwards.

“We are constantly working towards adding new products and services to the site, and we are keen to help businesses wherever we can.”
